2010 - High Holiday Schedule - 5771
All Services will be held in our beautiful sanctuary
at 31 Mt. Ebo Rd. North

Dear Temple Member:

The Worship Committee, the Board of Directors, Sisterhood and Men's Club have all been planning for the High Holydays, which begin on 1 Tishrei on the Hebrew calendar and this year on the Julian calendar at sundown on Wednesday, September 8th.

You should have received a packet of information about the holidays in the mail. These documents will help you navigate your way through what we hope will be a meaningful and enriching start for the year 5771. Additional copies may be downloaded below.

As we are expecting many people to attend services, we ask that you carpool wherever possible to keep the numbers of cars in the lot down as much as possible.

Please contact us at any time before or after the High Holy Days with your comments, thoughts, and suggestions at 845 279-4585 or via email.

Sincerely,
Ava Saperstein & Janet Mauro,
Co-Chairs
Worship Committee

appleOn Erev Rosh Hashanah, our Sisterhood organizes a memorable Oneg to usher in a Sweet New Year. Everyone is welcome to attend the Oneg. If you would like to donate either a food item or cash to help defray costs, please complete the first part of the form downloadable below.

We also have a simple Break Fast after Concluding Services on Yom Kippur where we will also need donations of either food items or cash. Please indicate on the form if your family will attend either or both events. Sisterhood will contact you to let you know what is needed.
If you have any questions about the Oneg, please contact Ruth Greenfield by email. Regarding the Break Fast, please contact Rita Rosen by email or via the Temple with any questions.

roseEvery year Sisterhood asks for donations which provide the flowers and plants that decorate the bimah on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Only a portion of the funds collected will be used for the plants that grace the bimah. The remainder will be put toward required landscaping for the property around our building. Traditionally, donations for Rosh Hashanah are made to wish the congregation a sweet or happy new year or in honor of a happy occasion or in honor of loved ones. For Yom Kippur, donations are usually in memory of loved ones. However, donations for any reason are very much appreciated. The minimum donation is $25. Names will be listed in our High Holyday announcements.

Checks for donations should be made out to Sisterhood, Temple Beth Elohim and received at the Temple office, 31 Mount Ebo Road North, Brewster, NY 10509, no later than Sunday, September 13th for Rosh Hashanah or Monday, September 21st for Yom Kippur. If you have any question, please contact Rebecca Wittenberg.
