The Temple Men's Club invites you to join us for fellowship and a nosh. We meet on the first Sunday of each month at 9AM in the Social Hall. Bagels; Lox; Orange Juice; Coffee (or Tea); Friends. What could be better! The Men's Club is a great way to meet other Temple members in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The Men's Club supports the Temple in a number of ways each year. We hold a Comedy Night each year with headline NYC comics; we cook incredible Latkes for the school (try the Jalapeño Latke - we dare you); we hold a Tag Sale each August so we can clear out our attics, and fill up our garage; and we sponsor an Art Auction. We offer a scholarship program to help our Temple youth in their dream to visit Israel. We help around the Temple in lots of ways through various committees. We have a few special social events for our members, such as our famous Billiard nights; Super Bowl Party; and a summer Met's game. We also help our friends at Green Chimneys by cooking each year for some of their outdoor events. We hope you will come meet some of your fellow congregants, and discover some new friends. For information about Men's Club and meeting location and time, please contact David via e-mail and put Men's Club in the subject line.
Men's Club Meetings are generally the first Sunday of each month from September - June at 9:00 am.
Join the Men's Club as we make our annual pilgrimage to Citi Field in Flushing, N.Y., to watch the New York Mets play the Houston Astros on Jewish Heritage Day, Sunday, Aug. 29, 1:10 pm. Tickets are $30 apiece for promenade infield seats. Jewish Heritage Day features pre-game music and dancing as well as game-long references to Jewish culture such as video clips on Jewish ballplayers and the names of players spelled in Hebrew on the scoreboard. This year the Mets even have a Jewish ballplayer on their roster - promising rookie Ike (Isaac Benjamin) Davis, whose mom is Jewish and whose dad is former Yankee pitcher Ron Davis (for you Yankee fans). To reserve tickets, send a check made out to Temple Beth Elohim Men's Club and mail to Temple Beth Elohim, 31 Mt. Ebo Rd. North , Brewster , N.Y. 10509 , by July 5th.
The members of the Men’s Club will be at the Temple from 10:00 am until noon Sundays, July 11, 18 and 25, and Aug. 1, 8 and 15 to accept donations of your unwanted treasures for the Tag Sale. New or gently worn clothing, toys, working electronic equipment other than TV’s and computers, exercise equipment, sporting goods, books, games, and household items will be gratefully accepted. Please no large items without prior permission. Please make sure all items are clean and suitable for sale. Then come to support your Temple on Sunday, August 22nd from 8 until 4 and restock your basements and attics with other people's unwanted treasures!
